Rachel / Senior Portrait NC Photographer

 Happy Monday!
I just want to share with you a session I had this past week with a good friend of mine Rachel. We have been friends since childhood and its always a great time when we get together to catch up.

One thing that made this session so special was the large antique trunk Rachel brought with her. It belonged to her father and it was such an amazing addition to our session.

Featuring Lauren Cook: What To Wear Wednesday / NC Wedding and Portrait Photographer

Thank you Lauren for sending in your What To Wear Wednesday pick! I love this gorgeous lacy white spring dress paired with a green blazer. This is a perfect outfit for a fun senior session or night out with friends! Great choice Lauren : )

 I have SPRING FEVER!

Why I love this outfit:

Lace dresses are so girly and in right now.
The blazer is a perfect pop of color!
The heels are classic.
Everyone needs some bling earrings.
The clutch is very neutral, but the different patterns in it and the dress add something to the whole.

Leave Lauren a comment letting her know what you think about the outfit she picked.

What to Wear Wednesday: February 15th

In honor of the gorgeous sunny weather we had here today I am featuring a What to Wear springtime outfit! Im always looking for someone with a great eye for fashion and style to be featured here on my blog on What to Wear Wednesdays so if you are interested email me (heidiscaseyphotography@live.com) or use the contact tab to get more information.
Navy and Gold

If you haven't noticed, I'm a huge fan of neutral colors with bright accessories to add that extra pop of color to make an outfit stand out. I don't know about you, but I always dread shopping for shorts. Finding that perfect pair of shorts is almost impossible! The shortie shorts are super cute and I adore the longer length skinny shorts but if you are like me (on the shorter side) they aren't exactly flattering. I personally am super excited that the flared mid-thigh length shorts are back in style! As a mom I'm always looking for a happy medium between stylish and appropriate.

As always if you are searching for ideas on what to wear to your next photo session or if you just love getting ideas for your next shopping trip, check out my what to wear board on Pinterest and get inspired!

What To Wear Wednesday: Featuring Suzi Spillane

Its another What to Wear Wednesday! This Wednesday is extra exciting because we have a featured guest writer (my wonderful fashionista sister) Suzi Spillane.

She, like me, has become addicted to polyvore.com and creating oufits. If you would like to take a picture of an outfit that you have created or spotted out or if you want to take advantage of polyvore.com, send me the image or link and a short description and you might just get featured on the next What To Wear Wednesday : )

Black and Gold

I composed this outfit from polyvore.com because it represents my personal style. I see this being worn to a nice dinner, perhaps on Valentine's day for those with special plans.

The skirt is my favorite item because, well, it sparkles and who doesn't love to shimmer a little?

All Saints mini skirt

Peplum is everywhere these days so I incorporated the bustier black top, which cinches in just the right places but is flowy at the bottom just in case you decide to order dessert ; )

Alice In The Eve top

The shoes give this a vintage feel with the peep toe and ankle straps and I think they pair well with the pattern of the skirt.

Gucci pumps

I chose accessories that compliment the outfit without stealing too much attention.
Noir Jewelry necklace
Chanel shoulder bag
Ring
Earrings
Ring

I realize these particular pieces are most likely unattainable, so substitute by grabbing the sparkly skirt you wore for new years and pair it with a structured top and heels. Make the skirt the star and for those in chillier regions, add black tights and a blazer.

Mom & Daughter Session: Brittany & Berlin

Brittany and her gorgeous daughter Berlin, met me at Mac Anderson Park for an afternoon session yesterday. Little miss Berlin was full of energy so we got plenty of action shots. She is such a sweetheart and even gave me a hug when I left.
I love sessions like these where I get to truly capture the relationship between two people. I loved getting to photograph the interaction between Berlin and her mom and I really feel like their love and personalities really shine in these pictures!

Fun & Flirty Session Follow-up

Yesterday went great! I was so exhausted last night that I didn't get a chance to post anything but I just want to say Thank You to all the great girls that booked and to my wonderful assistant for the day, my sister Suzi. And Thank you soo much to Brittany Morrow for being such an amazing make-up artist and pampering the girls!

The day started off great, even though it was a little rainy and cold. We had a great location with lots of windows, gorgeous hardwood floors and incredible natural window light. I wanted to make sure our girls felt comfortable and special so I pulled out all the stops! I had trays of fresh fruit with a light fruit dip, coffee and yummy mimosas (liquid courage I think one of the girls called them) for each girl. As each girl arrived we had a full setup waiting for them. They were whisked into the makeup chair where Brittany worked her magic as they enjoyed snacking on fruit and sipping on mimosas and afterwards I filled in as hairdresser. I wanted the girls to enjoy the entire experience : )

It was such a fun day and the girls did so awesome. We got so many great shots, which of course will not be shared due to our iron clad confidentiality agreements but I still wanted to share a little of the day with you!
